# Lolacore for ACF

LolaCore for ACF · Free Add-on · Requires LolaCore

Custom fields without the custom-fields learning curve.
=======================================================

LolaCore for ACF lets Lola design, build, and fill your custom fields by listening to what you actually need. You describe the problem in plain language. She picks the right structure, creates the fields, and fills them in. ACF is the engine. Lola is who you talk to. --------------------------------------------

Advanced Custom Fields is one of the most capable plugins in WordPress. It can model almost any kind of content. The problem is what you have to do to use it.

You open ACF and you face a screen that assumes you already speak the language. Field groups. Location rules. Conditional logic. Post types. Taxonomies. Each one is a tab, a dropdown, a panel of options that only makes sense once someone has explained it to you.

For developers, that interface is fine. They have built worse ones themselves. For everyone else, ACF is the plugin they were told to use and never quite warmed up to. They open the field group editor, see the location rules screen, and close the tab.

The fields they would have needed never got created. The problems they would have solved with ACF got solved with five plugins from the repository instead, one for each field.

LolaCore for ACF removes that wall. Lola listens to what you need and builds the field for you, on top of ACF, without ever asking you to learn ACF.

Demo What changes when Lola has ACF
------------------------------

Solving a problem you did not know was a custom field

![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)LolaCustom FieldsI keep losing track of which batches I get from each supplier. The info ends up in a notebook and then I forget which products belong to which batch.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)That fits the way ACF handles extra data on products. I can add three fields to every product: batch number, arrival date, and supplier. They will show up in the product editor under the regular fields. When you sell one, you can see them in the order details too. Is that what you had in mind?Yes, do it.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)Done. Three fields added to a field group called "Batch tracking" and assigned to all products. Existing products show the new fields empty, ready to fill in. New ones will have them from the start.✓ Field group "Batch tracking" createdYou never said the words field group, location rule, or post type. You described a real problem. Lola built the structure on top of ACF and explained what changed in the language of your store.

Filling data at scale, not one entry at a time

![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)LolaBulkThe new products are not showing the short tagline on the homepage. The old ones have it. Why?![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)The tagline is a custom field called "short\_description". It lives in the "Product extras" field group. Twelve of your products have it empty: the ten you added last week and two older ones that were skipped. Want me to draft taglines for the empty ones based on the titles and descriptions you already have? You can review them before they go live.Yes, send me the drafts.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)Drafts ready for the twelve products. They are saved as previews, not published. Review them in the chat or in the product editor and approve the ones that work.✓ 12 tagline drafts saved as previewsThe original problem was something looks wrong on the homepage. Lola traced it to an ACF field, found exactly which entries were missing the value, and offered to fill the gap. That is ACF as a working system Lola maintains on your behalf.

Building a field group the way you would describe it

![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)LolaField GroupI sell appliances and I need to store more info on each product. The SKU code, the weight, and some extra photos for each item.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)I will create a field group called "Product details" with three fields: a text field for the SKU, a number field for the weight, and an image gallery for the extra photos. It will appear on every product, below the regular content. The photos will be selectable from your media library. Should I go ahead?Yes.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)Done. The field group is active on every product. You can start filling in the SKU, the weight, and the gallery on any product page right now.✓ Field group "Product details" createdA request that would have taken minutes of clicking through ACF, resolved in one turn.

Positioning She is ACF for the people ACF was not designed for.
---------------------------------------------------

For developers, ACF is already efficient. They know where every setting lives. They have built field groups so many times that the interface barely slows them down. This add-on was not built for them. It was built for everyone else.

For the site owner who has ACF installed because their agency left it that way and has never opened it twice. For the marketer who needs one extra piece of data on every product and ends up buying a single-purpose plugin instead. For the content manager who would benefit from custom fields every week if someone had ever explained what they are.

Lola does not teach them ACF. She removes the need to learn it.

She listens to the problem, picks the right structure on top of ACF, builds it, fills it, and explains what just happened in plain words. The technology underneath is the same one developers have trusted for years. The way you use it changes completely.

For developers, the same engine still does everything they already do, faster, from a chat or from their IDE. The difference is that the rest of the team can now use ACF too.

Cross-domain Custom fields are only useful when something displays them. Lola handles both ends.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ACF stores the data. Something else has to show it. Usually that means switching to your page builder, adding a dynamic element, picking the field, configuring how it looks, saving, going back. If you have LolaCore for Elementor active, Lola does it in the same turn.

![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)LolaCross-domainAdd a "warranty in months" field to every product, and show it under the price on the product page.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)I will add a number field called "Warranty in months" to the "Product details" field group, applied to all products. Then I will open your product page template in Elementor and add a small text block right under the price that reads "Warranty: X months", where X reads from the new field. Single change, both sides. Should I proceed?Yes.![](https://lolacore.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/lolacore-favicon.png)Done. The field is live on every product. The product page template now shows the warranty line under the price, with the dynamic value bound to the field. If you fill in a warranty value, it shows up. If you leave it empty, the whole line hides automatically.✓ Field added + Elementor template updated ACF made the data. Elementor displays it. Lola connected both ends without you having to know they were separate problems. The same applies to any other part of your site Lola can reach. Data Lola creates in ACF becomes available everywhere else she works.

On translated content, [LolaCore for Polylang](https://lolacore.com/lolacore-for-polylang/) lets Lola read and write field values per language without leaving the chat.

Capabilities 30 capabilities across 7 areas. 26 with ACF Free.
-------------------------------------------------

The four capabilities that manage options pages require ACF Pro and turn on automatically when Pro is detected. Everything else works on ACF Free. Field values, read and write

Look up the SKU of a product, update a price, list every custom field on an entry, clear a value that should not be there. Works on posts, pages, users, taxonomy terms, and global options.

Field groups

List, inspect, create, modify, duplicate, activate, deactivate, and delete field groups. Location rules included: only on products, only on this template, only for this category. You describe where fields appear. Lola translates it into ACF rules.

Individual fields

Add a field, change its type or label, remove it, ask Lola what options each field type accepts before deciding. All ACF Free types covered. With Pro: repeater, gallery, flexible content, and clone.

Custom post types

Movies, events, properties, recipes, anything the site tracks as its own kind of content. Lola can list, create, modify, and delete custom post types. Works with ACF Free and Pro.

Custom taxonomies

The categories and tags for those post types. Genre for movies. Region for properties. Lola can list, create, modify, and delete taxonomies, and link them to the right post types.

Options pages (ACF Pro)

Settings screens for site-wide values: theme logo, social links, footer text. Lola can list, create, modify, and delete options page definitions. Available with ACF Pro.

Export field group config

For backups, migrations, and moving a field group between sites. Lola exports any field group as JSON, ready to import or drop into the acf-json folder of a theme. ACF Free and Pro.

What changes is the edition of ACF you already have. The four options-page capabilities show up automatically when Lola detects ACF Pro. Everything else works the same on both. Memory Lola remembers your fields between sessions
-------------------------------------------

Every field group you build with Lola is remembered. Every field she added, every location rule she set, every value she filled in. The next time you open the chat, she does not start from zero.

She knows you have a "Product details" field group with SKU, weight, and gallery, applied to every product. She knows the new tagline field is still empty on twelve specific products. She knows you prefer to review drafts before they go live.

That memory is what makes the field filling work at scale. She is not running a fresh query every time. She is updating a map of your site that she has been building since you started using her.

Safety No write action happens without your approval
---------------------------------------------

Creating a field group, adding a field, updating a value, deleting anything: every write action goes through a confirmation step. Lola shows you exactly what will change before it changes. You review, you confirm.

Read actions run directly. They do not modify anything, so they do not need approval.

For actions that cannot be undone, like deleting a field group or removing a field that already has data behind it, Lola spells out the consequence in plain words before asking.

 Requirements What you need
-------------

LolaCoreFree, active on the same siteAdvanced Custom FieldsFree or ProWordPress7.0 or higherPHP8.1 or higher ACF Pro is optional. All 26 Free capabilities work without it. The four options-page capabilities activate automatically when ACF Pro is detected, bringing the total to 30. For developers If you already speak ACF
------------------------

Most of this page is written for the people ACF assumes too much from. Developers who use ACF every day will recognize the underlying API. For that audience, two things matter.

First, every capability on this page runs against the public ACF API. Field groups Lola creates are indistinguishable from field groups created through the interface or in code. Same data, same structure, fully exportable.

Second, every capability here is also reachable through MCP. LolaCore ships its own MCP server, vendored inside the plugin. Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Windsurf: any MCP client you connect to your LolaCore site sees the 30 ACF capabilities alongside everything else LolaCore exposes. No separate adapter, no extra configuration on the ACF side.

This add-on does not run as a standalone MCP server. It needs LolaCore active on the site, because LolaCore is what publishes the server. The wp-admin chat and the IDE are two entry points to the same capabilities. Use whichever fits the moment.

 Frequently asked questions Questions
---------

Do I need anything besides LolaCore and ACF?

No. Install the add-on, activate it, and Lola discovers the ACF capabilities automatically. No settings page to configure, no API keys specific to this add-on.

Does it work with ACF Free or only Pro?

Both. All 26 Free capabilities work out of the box. The four options-page capabilities activate automatically when ACF Pro is detected, bringing the total to 30.

Does this replace ACF?

No. ACF stays installed and active. Lola operates on top of it. Field groups Lola creates appear in the ACF interface, can be edited there, and can be exported and imported like any other.

What happens to my existing field groups?

Nothing changes unless you ask. Lola can read them, list them, and modify them on request, but she does not touch anything you did not ask her to touch.

Can Lola work with field groups my old agency created?

Yes. Anything ACF knows about, Lola knows about. She can list them, explain what each field does, update values, and modify the configuration if needed.
